About People’s Action Institute

The mission of People’s Action Institute is to advance a long-term agenda for racial, economic and gender justice by investing in powerful state and local organizations and campaigns that win real change in people’s lives. Through strategic issue campaigns, leadership development, direct action, grassroots and netroots action we engage everyday people-and-power organizations in more than 30 states in building an economy and a democracy that puts people and planet first.

What You’ll Do

  • Organize the collective power of individual donors.

  • Grow our digital membership with a robust and engaging ad program.

  • Collaborate to grow a digital constituency that is primed to take action and move from protest to power across the country.

Who You Are

  • You have proven success engaging online constituencies and raising money from them.

  • You are driven to optimize online communications.

  • You can write powerfully in sharp, clear, easy to grasp language.

  • You are curious about the possibilities and insights that can be gleaned from Big Data.

  • You want to win the Battle of Big Ideas by advancing our stories and core narrative.


  • Regularly report key performance indicators across the organization.

  • Manage robust digital ads program.

  • Work with digital team to evaluate the success of email, social media, website, and online ad content and strategies to maximize fundraising and participation in our programs.

  • Coach coworkers and campaigns to help build effective digital fundraising and ad programs.

An ideal applicant would possess these qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a small dollar fundraising program.

  • Working knowledge of business statistics.

  • Understanding of agile project management.

  • Experience with CRMs and online fundraising tools and ad platforms.

  • Ability to work with diverse people and organizations.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Commitment to racial, economic, gender, and social justice.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is based on experience and you should put your desired range in your cover letter.
